Canyon Paint Horse Club Year-End Awards Rules
General
Rules
- All
horses must be registered or, if a weanling, be eligible for registration
with the APHA.
- All
owners or lessees of above horses must be a current member in
good standing with the APHA and be a full paid member in good
standing with the HCPHC. Youth are excluded from this rule. One
horse, one rider in all Amateur classes. HCPHC membership requirements
must be met before points can be accumulated.
- All
leased horses must send a copy of the lease agreement to the HCPHC
points keeper.
- It
shall be the responsibility of the club secretary to provide the
points keeper with an accurate membership list for point tabulation.
Dates when each member joined the club are needed to compute
proper points. Club membership list will be mailed to club points
keeper by March 1st of each year and updated as new members join.
- All
owners are responsible for reporting their points within 30 days
of the show being reported. Forms for keeping points may
be obtained from the Points Keeper/Shelli Donohue, from the
website, or at club meetings. Any and all
points must be in no later than 30 days following the last day
of the show season.
-
To qualify for an award, all three of the requirements from
this list must be met in addition to above requirements:
- Attend
three (3) regularly scheduled general membership meetings.
- Work
a minimum of one day at our annual APHA approved HCPHC show.
- Must show your horse in a minimum of three (3) APHA or
Non-APHA shows.
The
show season will last from November 1 to October 31. Awards will
be distributed in January at our Year-End Award Dinner.
- Ties
will be broken in the following manner: The horse or exhibitor
accumulating equal points but showing the least number of times
will receive the award. If this is equal, the horse that places
over the other horse the greatest number of times will be declared
the winner.
- There
are three divisions for awards-APHA, Non-APHA, and Futurity. The APHA division
includes classes in which a horse can earn APHA breed points.
Non-APHA shows may or may not include PAC (Paint Alternative Competition)
points, but are not eligible for APHA points. Examples of non-APHA
shows are any sponsored by Washington State Horsemen, 4-H, fair
boards, or local saddle clubs. Classes held at APHA shows that
do not earn APHA points and are placed can be submitted for non-APHA
points. For example, Washington Bred halter classes, Oregon Bred
halter classes, or fun classes. YDF schooling classes are not
eligible for HCPHC year-end points. Futurity classes that will
count for year-end awards are halter, yearling longeline, and
performance.
- To
determine which category a class is eligible for, the full class
name is used. No class points will be eligible for more than one
category. If a class name is incomplete on the points reporting
form and an appropriate category can not be determined, the exhibitor
may not receive points for that class. To avoid confusion or missing
points, please use the entire class name when filling out points
reporting forms and, if necessary, submit a copy of the show's
class listings with classes entered clearly marked.
- The
points keeper reserves the right to verify any points submitted
with APHA or the secretary of any show, for which points have been
submitted and make adjustments as needed.
